Choir History
The Olympia Peace Choir was founded in 2010. We’re excited to celebrate our 14th season, beginning in September 2023.
The Olympia Peace Choir is an inclusive, all-ages community chorus dedicated to using the power of song to create peace and promote social justice and environmental stewardship. We sing music from diverse cultures and traditions and are dedicated to practicing the principles of equality, peace, respect, and cooperation.
Our motto is “Quality Through Inclusion.” There are no auditions to become a member, and we accept people from all backgrounds, and with all levels of musical ability. We believe that one of the keys to a great choir performance is the relationship we have with each other. Our rehearsals are a nice balance of fun and hard work. Even though our choir has been over 100 members strong at some points, we consider ourselves a family. Each rehearsal and performance leaves us feeling energized, hopeful, and connected.
When you come to hear us perform, it’s our goal to leave you with the same warm feelings.
Our beautiful logo was created by Olympia Peace Choir member Marlene Bennett.
A Wonderful Choir! There is a peace attained listening to every voice come together in harmony.
